MAJOR GLINDA L. McKOY

Biography information

Named in honor of Glinda L. McKoy, who was a member of the Harnett County community and served her country as a decorated veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Initiated into Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated at North Carolina A&T State University, Alpha Phi Chapter. A Silver Star, Glinda became an Ivy Beyond the Wall in July 2011. She was a huge proponent of education and was a catalyst for efforts leading to the chartering of the Omega Kappa Omega chapter. It is important for Shirley to be part of Glinda’s legacy because in addition to being her soror, Glinda and Shirley were cousins and grew up together.
